Henrymakow: My name is Anthony Migchels and I am the initiator of the «Gelre,» the first Regional Currency in the Netherlands.
My organization is a foundation, not for profit, not a company, because I believe credit should be a public facility, serving the people that actually OWN the credit, instead of milking them dry with what is rightfully theirs. The Gelre foundation is run by a board of three.

We now have almost a hundred companies participating and the break even point should come at about 300, after that we can get an income out of it. But the real goal is, to hook up 66% of all companies in Gelderland, a province in the Netherlands with 1.2 million inhabitants and 60k companies. A GDP of about 40 billion Euro.

It is clear that interest bearing debt to a bank as money is a vicious hoax, but strangely enough, few have been developing a viable alternative.

Ellen Brown and the Money Master people, whom I both regard very highly, have reasonable
propositions, but they are still considering reform at the state-level and that is simply not going to happen. Not here in Europe and not before having survived WW3, anyway.

State Level real money implies the end of the New World Order Central Banking Vampires.
There is Bernard Lietaer, but his biggest point seems to be that ‘complementary currencies’ complement the ‘national’ (banking, really) currencies. He has correctly analyzed the negative aspects of interest, but is completely oblivious (or pretends to be) to the nefarious nature of the powers behind the printing press. It is clear that real alternative currencies have only one goal: to destroy the credibility of humanities greatest plague and its metal based successors. The goal is clearly NOT to play second fiddle.

I like Thomas Greco, who is very knowledgeable. He suggests mutual credit, facilitated by Market Players as a solution, but even he has not pinpointed what is to my mind the most crucial challenge for anybody wanting to create a viable currency, able to truly compete with Dollar or Euro

That challenge is as follows:

Barter units allow for interest free credit, but are not convertible to major currencies and convertible units don’t allow for non interest bearing credit.
Combining these two features, convertibility and interest free credit, is essential for non state/non bank monies to have a real impact.

It is the way of the not so distant future 🙂

Most barter schemes have prohibitive transactions costs. Also, and even more importantly, they are not convertible to Euro/Dollar. They usually are OK for swapping excess inventory or goods and services with low marginal cost, but not for high powered capital intensive industry.
The Euro/Dollar/Pound based Berkshares (http://berkshares.org/) , Lewes Pound
(http://www.thelewesPound.org/) and German Regional Currencies (www.regiogeldverein.de) are stronger, because they are based on national currencies: you give up a Dollar and in return you get a Berkshare, that can be spent within the network. In effect the Dollar remains in the network. Because there is a Dollar in the bank, companies can convert excess local currencies (units that they cannot usefully spend in the network) to Dollar/Euro The problem is, there can never be more of the local currency in circulation, than the supplying organization has Dollars/Euro in the bank. Therefore they cannot supply any credit.

This is also the basic architecture of the current Gelre. Another conceptual problem with this approach is that you are basing real, loving money on the most toxic commodity known to man: interest bearing bank debt as money.

There is also a legal problem here, in Europe, anyway:

Believe it or not, but De Nederlandsche Bank (Dutch central bank,) run by Nout Wellink who is on the board of BIS and a member of the Trilaterals) shut down my on-line telebank service. A clear sign I was on the right track :-). They did so because of a prohibition on collecting ‘reclaimable money’ (a direct translation of judicial lingo, I’m not sure an English speaking lawyer will know what this means).

You can, however, manage reclaimable money if you give a paper voucher in return. This is a loophole designed for book vouchers and the like.

France24: Warning of a «cyber arms race,» top Web security firm McAfee Inc. said Tuesday that China, France, Israel, Russia and the United States have developed «cyber weapons.»

«McAfee began to warn of the global cyber arms race more than two years ago, but now we’re seeing increasing evidence that it’s become real,» said Dave DeWalt, president and chief executive of McAfee.

«Several nations around the world are actively engaged in cyberwar-like preparations and attacks,» he said. «Today, the weapons are not nuclear, but virtual, and everyone must adapt to these threats.»

The Santa Clara, California-based McAfee, in its fifth annual «Virtual Criminology Report,» said China, France, Israel, Russia and the United States were countries that have developed «advanced offensive cyber capabilities.»

McAfee said cyberattacks were on the rise and «cyberwarfare is a reality.»

Åpne grenser og vår egen identitet

Vårt lands politikere sammen har åpnet grensene for mange forskjellige folkegrupper som søker lykken i vårt velferdssamfunn. Vi kan takke Schengen-avtalen for det. Dette er et ledd i Den Nye Verdensorden hvor alt skal mikses sammen. Etter min mening hadde det vært bedre å hjelpe i større grad de landene som har det så ille. Bibelen sier også at ”Gud har satt landegrenser mellom folkeslagene for at de skal søke Gud” Ap. Gj. 7.26-27. Myndigheten i de forskjellige land bryr seg ikke om hva Bibelen sier. De har nå brutt ned landegrensene, laget et internasjonalt lovverk som overstyrer det nasjonale lovverket, slik at folk med forskjellig tro, meninger og skikker, blir mikset sammen. På denne måten blir stabiliteten som har vært i et land, brutt ned og det blir lettere å få inn noe nytt. Og det blir ikke noe bibelsk positivt. Det globale mønsteret blir tredd nedover hodet på oss, og nå vil de innskjerpe ytringsfriheten slik at vi ikke sier noe negativt om deres globale ideer og andres tro.

President Obama har uttalt noe sånt som ”uansett hva vi en gang var, så er vi ikke lenger en kristen nasjon. Vi er en jødisk nasjon, en muslimsk nasjon, en buddistisk nasjon og et folk av ikke troende.” Da har kristenheten glemt sine røtter. I 2007 ble en hinduistisk prest bedt om å åpne den amerikanske kongress med bønn. En religion som har 600.000 guder. (Og det var mens Bush var president.) Vi kristne har bare en Gud . Men Han er til gjengjeld den eneste sanne Gud for oss.

I Australia har noen tydelig vis forstått mer. Vi kunne trenge en leder som president Kevin Rudd. Denne uttalelsen fant jeg i et nyhetsbrev derfra: «Muslimer som ønsker å leve under islamsk sharia-lov ble fortalt at de måtte komme seg ut fra Australia. Dette er et målrettet forsøk på å bekjempe mulige terrorangrep. (Etter terrorangrepene på Bali). Australias kultur er utviklet over 200 år med kamp, prøvelser og seire av millioner av mennesker som har søkt frihet. Engelsk er hovedspråket og ikke andre språk. Derfor hvis innvandrere ønsker å bli en del at denne kulturer, må de først av alt lære språket. De fleste australiere tror på ’Gud, fordi kristne menn og kvinner , på kristne premisser grunnla denne nasjonen og det er klart dokumentert. Så hvis Gud er støtende for deg så bør du finne deg et annet land å bo i. For Gud er en del av vår kultur. Alt vi forlanger av innvandrerne er at de aksepterer vår tro og vil leve i harmoni og fred med oss. Dette er vårt land og vår livsstil. Take it or leave it.”

Jeg er enig i alt dette. Men problemet er dessverre at våre myndigheter ikke har den rette holdningen. De har også glemt vår kristne arv. Alt vi har bygge på de siste 1000 år gir de avkall på. Må Gud hjelpe oss.

Telegraph: The “appalling” errors that contributed to Britain’s failure in Iraq are disclosed in the most detailed and damning set of leaks to emerge on the conflict.
On the eve of the Chilcot inquiry into Britain’s involvement in the 2003 invasion and its aftermath, The Sunday Telegraph has obtained hundreds of pages of secret Government reports on “lessons learnt” which shed new light on “significant shortcomings” at all levels.

They include full transcripts of extraordinarily frank classified interviews in which British Army commanders vent their frustration and anger with ministers and Whitehall officials.

The reports disclose that:

Tony Blair, the former prime minister, misled MPs and the public throughout 2002 when he claimed that Britain’s objective was “disarmament, not regime change” and that there had been no planning for military action. In fact, British military planning for a full invasion and regime change began in February 2002.

The need to conceal this from Parliament and all but “very small numbers” of officials “constrained” the planning process. The result was a “rushed”operation “lacking in coherence and resources” which caused “significant risk” to troops and “critical failure” in the post-war period.

Operations were so under-resourced that some troops went into action with only five bullets each. Others had to deploy to war on civilian airlines, taking their equipment as hand luggage. Some troops had weapons confiscated by airport security.

Commanders reported that the Army’s main radio system “tended to drop out at around noon each day because of the heat”. One described the supply chain as “absolutely appalling”, saying: “I know for a fact that there was one container full of skis in the desert.”

The Foreign Office unit to plan for postwar Iraq was set up only in late February, 2003, three weeks before the war started.

Klimaavsløring

Telegraph: If you own any shares in alternative energy companies I should start dumping them NOW. The conspiracy behind the Anthropogenic Global Warming myth (aka AGW; aka ManBearPig) has been suddenly, brutally and quite deliciously exposed after a hacker broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka CRU) and released 61 megabytes of confidential files onto the internet. (Hat tip: Watts Up With That)

When you read some of those files – including 1079 emails and 72 documents – you realise just why the boffins at CRU might have preferred to keep them confidential. As Andrew Bolt puts it, this scandal could well be “the greatest in modern science”. These alleged emails – supposedly exchanged by some of the most prominent scientists pushing AGW theory – suggest:

Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more.

One of the alleged emails has a gentle gloat over the death in 2004 of John L Daly (one of the first climate change sceptics, founder of the Still Waiting For Greenhouse site), commenting:

“In an odd way this is cheering news.”

But perhaps the most damaging revelations – the scientific equivalent of the Telegraph’s MPs’ expenses scandal – are those concerning the way Warmist scientists may variously have manipulated or suppressed evidence in order to support their cause.

The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate.

Telegraph: Herman Van Rompuy, Europe’s first president, is to join forces with the European Commission to push for sweeping new tax raising powers for Brussels.

Within days of taking office in January, the former Belgian prime minister will put his weight behind controversial proposals already floated by the commission’s head, José Manuel Barroso, for a new «Euro tax».

He will add credence to Mr Barroso’s plans, to be formally tabled in the New Year, by arguing for a Euro-version of a «Tobin Tax» – a levy on financial transactions already floated by Gordon Brown as a solution to the international banking crisis. It would result in a stream of income direct to Brussels coffers, funding budgets that critics say are already rife with waste and overspending.

Mr Van Rompuy, 62, who was appointed to the newly-created £320,000-a-year post at last week’s special EU summit, set out his stall on direct Euro-taxes during a private speech at a recent meeting of the Bilderberg group of top politicians, bankers and businessmen. The group officially meets in secret, but when selected details of his remarks leaked out, his office was forced to issue a public statement on his behalf.

«The financing of the welfare state, irrespective of the social reform we implement, will require new resources,» he said. «The possibility of financial levies at European level needs to be seriously reviewed.»
